Dr. Immerman has been practicing exclusively low vision since 1982. He is a graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He routinely sees patients with diagnoses of age related macular degeneration (ARMD), Stargardt’s Disease, macular holes, drug induced toxicity reactions, uveitis, retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), retinitis pigmentosa (RP) and high myopia. He has spent the last 34 years designing low vision devices for reading, distance, occupational and recreational tasks. He also designs low vision glasses for driving and computer use and prescribe electronic magnification devices for reading. He refers patients as necessary to low vision occupational therapy and to appropriate state agencies and organizations to maximize their function.
